My name is Andre Damian. I’m a community builder and founder of BALLROOM WORKS and Utrecht Ballroom Scene, a communtiy centering queer and trans people of color. For 12 years I’ve been active in human rights movements and NGOs, and in the past 5 years I’ve focused on empowering the LGBTQIA+ community through my ballroom work. Ballroom consists of queer and trans people, people of color, and many young people. The far right is growing, and our community is under threat. I’m stepping forward to bring our voices, struggles, and hopes into Dutch politics. Let’s make sure our community is seen, heard and represented in Parliament.
